Who am I?

Often times, I get very absorbed into the world of creating and shutter at the very thought of having to explain myself. It’s not something I like to do because I’m not great at expressing myself vocally. It never quite comes out how I need it to. During my last jurried critique with instructors, the question came up “What is the pattern you see repeating itself in your artwork?” Meaning WHO am I? All I could really come up with was that I like multiples. That was all… I didn’t know what else to say about my work. I create artwork much too passively, and I know it’s something I’ve got to work on! But like a little kid on the playground not wanting to leave, I refuse and will stop at nothing to have to avoid the inevitable moment when I have to sit down and write it down on paper.

Perhaps this summer will bring me to understand my creations further? I’ll have to make lots of objects I guess! That’s not a problem, though. Seeing as I’m currently unemployed with only two spring/summer courses.

Last week I joined a jewellery club that gets together on Wednesdays. They discuss objects they have created and progress they have made, as well as sharing tips and various other helpful information! Not to mention it’s a GREAT place to network with local artists <3 They’re all very wonderful people!

Below is the ring I shared with the group (I had nothing else with me! Thank goodness I brought SOMETHING to show off!) I created this ring originally in 2nd year for the hollow construction project.

Creeeeepy!

So Lately I’ve really been focusing on what makes something disturbing or hard to look at.
It’s difficult to say, but from what I can see it’s really easy to make a face creepy. I should know–I draw a lot of creepy shit sometimes.  Anyway, here are some images that I enjoyed and cause me to question the human mind:

And a few of you who have me on facebook have seen my sketchbook drawings:

In a few weeks our college is having a show and sale. I’ll be selling a few ‘exoskeleton’ bust pendants.Sort of similar to the top right drawing. They were made using the lost wax method and I’ll be posting photographs of them when I get the chance :D

(I love having lots of pictures in a blog, so this is how it will be, I don’t know about you, but I can’t stand reading an entire webpage about something that’s going on in somebody’s mind. It just doesn’t matter to me.)

Love you all! Have a very creepy day!

Welcome Home

Cuuute! Look at me! I’m blogging! I’m super tired from casting today but here I am, updating my blog. What the hell, Louise?

I guess you’re wondering who I am. My name is Louise Rambiert and I’m a 3rd year Jewellery Major and I hope to one day hand you your diamond ring. Your welcome. I worked hard for you, didn’t I? Yes. Yes I did. If you haven’t noticed already…I’m a bit of a kook. But without kooks like me in this world, I think there wouldn’t be anyone to LOL at, amiright?

I’m a freak, people say I am…because of this: I LOOOVE setting gemstones. It’s so tedious and full of hate and love. Such a funny combination. I only hate it because I need to practice and practice is difficult Q_Q

Anyway, I’ll update you all later, it’s time for me to rest!
